From 1997 to 1999, the 21-acres of raw hillside land that would become Le Cadeau vineyard were “cleared”. In 1999, the original 6-acres of Pinot noir vines were planted, followed by an additional 4-acre planting in 2002. In 2006, we added 3.75-acres, along with 1.25-acres of Pinot noir vines planted on our neighbor’s property adjacent to our North boundary (aka. the “Rose Vineyard”). With the most recent 2008 addition, Le Cadeau Vineyard now totals 15.5-acres, plus the 1.25-acre “Rose Vineyard”. In total, we farm slightly under 17-acres with over 22,000 Pinot noir grapevines… and one Sauvignon Blanc plant accidentally mixed in that now has an identity crisis.
