Like all Le Cadeau wines, the 2017 Chardonnay is produced entirely from Estate-grown fruit. Both the aromatic profile and flavor complexity are substantially developed through the vineyard-driven attributes of clonal and soil diversity, overlaid by "aspect" - that is, climate variance derived from the varied growing conditions in our estate vineyard. Time-proven heritage clones of Chardonnay (CH72 Old Wente and CH28 Mt. Eden) represent the majority of the fruit mix, with the balance comprised of the highly regarded Dijon 76 clone and a dash (68-vines, to be exact) of CH809 musque-style Chardonnay for aromatic intrigue and a hint of ginger spice on the palate.
